Spring weddings hold a special charm that is hard to resist. Perhaps it's the sense of renewal that comes with the season or the fact that we've spent months cooped up indoors and are eager for a breath of fresh air. Whatever the reason, I find myself increasingly drawn to capturing the magic of spring weddings. The soft pastels, delicate blooms, and warm sunlight all combine to create a truly stunning backdrop for any couple's special day.
Shannon and Matt's spring wedding day at The Brix On The Fox was an incredibly special occasion. They had been planning the event for over a year, putting in a great deal of effort and attention to detail to make the day perfect. One of the most remarkable aspects of the wedding was the level of personalization that Shannon and Matt put into every detail. From the welcome signs that greeted guests at the entrance to the unique gifts that they shared, everything was tailored to reflect the couple's style and taste. Even the smallest details, like breath mints and drink stirrers, were personalized to add a special touch. The Brix On The Fox provided a beautiful setting for the ceremony and reception, and the happy couple was surrounded by family and friends as they celebrated their love and commitment to one another. It was a truly unforgettable day that will be remembered by all who attended for years to come.
When thinking about my three favorite moments from Shannon and Matt's wedding to share, I truly had a hard time. They did such an amazing job incorporating so many fun and unique ideas during their day that made their wedding truly one of a kind. Instead of my three favorites, here are my top FIVE!
#1 | The Wedding Party Reception Introductions:
Shannon and Matt are The Office SUPER FANS!! There were so many fun nods to their favorite show sprinkled all over their wedding. My favorite was they did an exact choreographed replication of Jim and Pam's wedding ceremony processional. Their friends and family spent a significant amount of time planning and practicing their trip into the reception room to look EXACTLY like what was in the show. It was PERFECT! From the rose petal toss to the Kleenex boxes for shoes! Absolutely hilarious and impressive at the same time! As a big fan of the show myself, I absolutely LOVED it!! BRAVO!
#2 | Sparkler Exit:
If you know me, you know I love a good sparkler exit, and Shannon and Matt's did not disappoint! Shannon took my advice and bought the 36" sparklers, which last WAY longer than the regular ones. It was AWESOME!! They got to run through several times before the sparks ran out, giving them a ton of photos! Shannon took it a step further and wore a personalized jean jacket that said "Mrs. Holder" on the back. Such a cute touch!!
#3 | First Look:
There is a reason why we do first looks. It's not just because we get to capture 40% MORE portraits of the bride and groom on their wedding day (that's a pretty big one for sure!), but it helps our couples feel so much more relaxed before the ceremony. We love giving our couples a private moment for just the two of them - without hundreds of eyes watching - to see each other for the first time before they become husband and wife. Matt's reaction to seeing his bride was absolutely priceless!! The photos speak for themselves.
#4 | Polaroid Picture Cake Toppers:
After Shannon and Matt had a moment to compose themselves following their emotional first look, they individually took Polaroid pictures of each other to serve as their wedding cake topper. What a unique, clever, and creative idea!
#5 | Bride & Brothers/Groom & Aunt Dances:
Shannon and Matt paid a beautiful tribute to their parents during the special dances at their wedding. Shannon danced with her brothers, taking turns, while a photo slideshow of her father played on screens behind them. Similarly, Matt did the same with his aunt. This heartfelt gesture moved everyone in the room to tears and created a cherished memory that no one will soon forget. It was such a beautiful moment and an incredible way to remember their loved ones on their special day.
Shannon and Matt, Thank you for having me! Celebrating the start of your marriage and meeting your family and friends has been an absolute joy! I am so grateful to have shared these special moments with you. Now get comfy as you scroll through some of my favorite images from your big day. Your sneak peek is LIVE!!
the Kleenex shoes kill me!! 😆
I have to say, this was one of the BEST reception entrances I've ever seen!
Shannon and Matt took polaroids of each other during their first look and used them as cake toppers. So cute!
Shannon & Matt, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for choosing me as your wedding photographer!!! I truly had the best time getting to know you both and sharing in this special season with you. Congratulations!
