Oh my goodness, this session was such a sweet one! After photographing Justin and Reilly’s pregnancy announcement and then their maternity session, walking into their home and finally meeting baby Charlotte felt incredibly special.


Sweet Charlie was wide awake for most of our time together, happily taking everything in while snuggled safely between her mom and dad. Honestly, I didn’t mind one bit because those open eyes gave us so many beautiful little expressions—and it was easy to see that Justin and Reilly could not be more in love with their baby girl. Parenthood already looks so natural on both of them, and the way they look at Charlie says absolutely everything.


The light pouring into their sunroom was gorgeous and gave us the dreamiest place to slow down and capture their first days together at home. We photographed all of the tiny details they’ll want to remember, along with plenty of cuddles, kisses and those quiet little moments that make lifestyle newborn sessions so meaningful.


Near the very end of our session, Charlie finally drifted off to sleep. Since she was sleeping so peacefully, we were even able to capture a few sweet, gently posed newborn portraits. That isn’t something I typically include in my lifestyle sessions, but it was so much fun to create those images for Justin and Reilly—and Charlie looked absolutely precious!


Getting to watch this season unfold through their pregnancy announcement at Sands Main Street Prairie in Cary, their maternity session at Cantigny Park in Wheaton and now Charlie’s newborn session has been such a gift. This baby girl is already so deeply loved, and she is incredibly lucky to have Justin and Reilly as her parents.


Justin and Reilly, thank you for continuing to invite me into such meaningful moments for your family. It has been an absolute joy watching your excitement grow and now seeing you together with your beautiful baby girl. Now snuggle up—your sneak peek is live!
