I’ve known Ian and Anna through church, and for quite some time Ian had been quietly planning this moment. We’d chatted here and there while he worked through ideas, timing, and all the tiny details that go into pulling off a proposal without giving everything away. After church, Ian set his plan into motion by taking Anna to Lake Geneva under the very casual premise of “just walking around.” Meanwhile, love songs played on the car radio the entire drive, which, understandably, raised a few suspicions.
