Six grandsons, eight and under! Mike and Joanie’s family has grown quite a bit since their last extended family photo—two of those boys weren’t even born yet. So when Katie reached out about getting everyone together for updated portraits, we had a pretty good reason to make it happen!
I first met Katie at Sarah Keller’s bridal shower, and Monday morning brought us to her parents’ home in Schaumburg. This time, I got to meet her family, her sister Chrissy’s family, and the grandparents their boys call Ahma and Papa. I loved that we could do these photos right at their home. A family doesn’t need to find somewhere fancy to make their pictures meaningful.
It’s easy for the family photo on the wall to become the one you keep meaning to update. You walk past it every day, but then you realize the baby in that picture is a big kid now—and his little cousins aren’t in it at all! The Schecks are a close family, and I’m so glad Katie made time for a picture that includes everyone who belongs in it today.
Katie, thank you for asking me to photograph your family, and Mike and Joanie, thank you for having me at your home! I’m so grateful you welcomed me and trusted me to capture this season for you. Now grab a blanket and snuggle up—your sneak peek is live!
Thank you again, Scheck family! I can’t wait to share your full gallery with you soon!
