Some sessions feel less like starting from the beginning and more like picking up right where we left off. That’s exactly how it felt seeing the Lawlers again!


I’ve had the joy of knowing Hilary and Andrew for several years now, and somewhere along the way, they became one of those families I’m always genuinely excited to catch up with. This time, they arrived at Cantigny Park as a family of four—with Caroline getting so big and their newest little guy, Lincoln, officially joining the crew!


Our evening was less of a traditional newborn session and more of a relaxed family session celebrating what life looks like for them right now. Cantigny gave Caroline room to move, explore, and be herself while we created their first family portraits with Lincoln. It was easy, fun, and such a sweet excuse to spend some time together again.


One of my favorite parts of photographing returning families is getting to see all the changes that happen between our times together. Kids grow almost overnight, new personalities emerge, and families settle into brand-new rhythms. Yet somehow, once we’re together again, it still feels familiar.


Hilary and Andrew, thank you for continuing to invite me into your family’s story. I loved catching up with you, seeing how much Caroline has grown, and finally meeting sweet Lincoln! Now grab a blanket, sit back, and snuggle in—your sneak peek is live!
