Getting the whole family together is HARD once everyone grows up, gets married, has babies and starts living in different states. So when it actually happens? TAKE THE PHOTOS!!
The Luzarraga family had everyone together in Illinois for the week, including family who traveled in from New Jersey, and I got to meet all 13 of them for an extended family session at Cornish Park in Algonquin!
And when I say this family is in a fun season right now, I mean it. Nonna and Beto have four grandbabies who are all four years old and under. FOUR. There are babies to snuggle, toddlers with very important places to be, and cousins who are just beginning to grow up together. Basically, exactly the kind of season that feels a little crazy while you’re living it and then somehow becomes the one you wish you could go back to.
We met at Cornish Park in Algonquin, right along the Fox River, for a warm summer evening together. It ended up being the perfect spot for what mattered most about this session — getting the entire Luzarraga family together while everyone was in town and documenting this very full, very fun season of their family!
But my favorite part of this session really was the people. The Luzarragas are warm, funny and clearly just really enjoy being together. By the end of the evening, it felt much less like photographing 13 people and a whole lot more like getting invited to hang out with one very fun family for an hour.
And THIS is your reminder if your family is spread across different cities or states: you do not need to wait for the perfect occasion to schedule extended family photos. Everyone being together IS the occasion. Especially when there are little people involved. They’re only this tiny together once.
Luzarraga family, thank you for trusting me with this season of your family!! I had the BEST time with all of you at Cornish Park, and I’m so excited for you to see what we created together! Now grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a few of my favorites, your official sneak peek is LIVE!!
Luzarraga family, thank you SO much for such a fun evening and for trusting me to capture this season for your family! I loved getting to spend this time with all of you while everyone was together. I hope you love this little peek into our evening, and I can’t wait to share your full gallery with you soon!!
