Sam began working at the school where Susie teaches in 2019. Susie noticed him at the new faculty lunch and immediately checked to see if he was wearing a ring!! Soon after, she began coaching the Science Olympiad with him but it wasn't until the pandemic lockdown that they began going for walks in a local forest preserve that quickly turned into dates.


This past March, it was Susie that proposed to Sam! A very cozy and sweet moment shared by just the two of them at home. The PERFECT proposal! Of course, Sam said, "YES!" Afterward, Susie thoughtfully surprised Sam with an engraved pocketknife as an engagement gift. Such a treasure!
