This past week, I had the sweetest time with Jordan & Mike at Cantigny Park! The gardens were glowing, the light was golden, and these two were so fun to photograph. From the moment we started, their laughter was contagious and the way they just fit together made every single photo feel effortless.
Jordan & Mike have such a fun “meet-cute” — they first connected in 2020 over a game of beer pong through mutual friends. Even though they’d grown up near each other and even gone to the same school, their paths never crossed until that night. Mike offered to walk Jordan to her car (a true gentleman move, even though it was only a few feet away), and not long after, they had their first date at Cruisin in Gilberts, a hometown favorite that’s still their spot today.
Fast forward a few years, and Mike planned the sweetest proposal. On January 18, he completely surprised Jordan at the Maggie Daley ice ribbon in Chicago. Right there on the rink, he got down on one knee! As if that wasn’t enough, the night ended with a big surprise party back at their favorite hometown bar, surrounded by all their friends. Truly the perfect way to celebrate such an exciting “yes!”
Now, nearly five years into their relationship, they’re soaking in this season of engagement. Photographing them together at Cantigny was such a joy—their laughter, the way they made each other smile, and those little in-between moments that felt so genuine. It’s the kind of love that makes photographing couples so special, because the camera doesn’t just see smiles—it sees their story.
Jordan & Mike — thank you so much for letting me capture this sweet season. Spending the evening with you was such a joy, and I cannot wait to celebrate alongside you again next summer. Now grab a blanket and snuggle up… your sneak peek is live!
