I always joke that I have the BEST families with the most well-behaved children… and it’s true! Okay, maybe not every single moment is perfectly behaved (what family session ever is?), but that’s the beauty of it. The magic happens when kids get to be kids, when parents trust me, and when families let go of the pressure of perfection. That trust is everything. My families really do feel more like friends, and because of that, we’re able to create photos that are joyful, real, and full of life.


The Steger family has welcomed me back for three years now, and I’m so GRATEFUL and THANKFUL for them and families like them. The Fox River Marina was showing off for us that evening—the trees were bursting with color, and the golden light made the whole session feel like autumn magic.
