After sharing my reel, I received a couple of messages asking, "Who is Keith? Is he famous? Those pictures are amazing!" I was so encouraged by your response that I decided to blog about our session and share even more of my favorite images from the day.
When Keith reached out about needing professional headshots for a casting call, I knew this was going to be a fun session. He didn’t just want a standard headshot—he wanted images that captured his energy, charisma, and personality.
I first met Keith through Oak Trace Senior Living, where he works. My connection to Oak Trace started with Jessica. Years ago, I was a second shooter at her wedding, and although I wasn’t her primary photographer, our paths kept crossing. Over time, we became friends, and I’ve had the joy of photographing events and headshots at Oak Trace through that connection. That’s something I’ve learned over the years—when you truly care about people, it turns clients into friends. And that’s exactly how I met Keith.
For his headshots, I suggested The Studio Chicago, and it ended up being the perfect spot. The natural light was incredible, the space had such a clean, modern feel, and it gave us tons of variety to work with.
(Side note: Santa, if you’re reading this, I’d love a studio of my own for Christmas. Please and thank you.)
Keith showed up with several outfit options, including a couple of sweatshirts designed and painted by a friend—such a cool, personal touch. I already knew he was a fun guy, but I had no idea just how much energy he has! He absolutely owned this session—effortlessly confident, comfortable in front of the camera, and full of personality.
We played with different poses, moods, and expressions, making sure he had a gallery full of versatile images for his casting call. And the best part? I shot all of this without a flash. Just that glorious natural window light doing all the work.
(Again, Santa, please note: A studio with giant windows is officially on my wishlist.)
By the end of the session, Keith’s gallery was massive—not because I’m an over-shooter (which, okay, I totally am), but because we got so much variety that I couldn’t help but include it all. Every shot showed a different side of Keith—from polished and professional to relaxed and fun. If he could bottle up his confidence and charisma and sell it, he’d be a ga-gillionaire.
Keith, you absolutely killed this session! If your casting call is looking for someone with confidence, personality, and style—you’ve got it in the bag.
Scroll through to see some of my favorites from the session—though let’s be honest, they’re all my favorites!
